Opal M. Weaver

Opal M. Weaver, 82 of Goshen died Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at Courtyard Healthcare.

She was born April 20,1937 in New Paris to Osee and Mary (Welty) Weaver.

Survivors include two sisters, Norma (Vernon) Hershberger of Goshen and Jewell Wiggins of Dowagiac, Michigan and a large extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Bertha Krebs, Faye Kauffman, Laveta Stuckman and Elberta Landenberger and five brothers, Francis, Glen, Kenneth, Jay and Stanley Weaver.

When Opal was younger, she worked at the local café in New Paris, and also babysat for her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed being outside, especially working in her yard and riding her bike around town.

Her favorite Big Band music was Lawrence Welk. Opal was a member of New Paris Church of the Brethren.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 26, 2020 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen followed by a 3 p.m. memorial service.  Pastor Stan Godfrey will officiate.

A private burial will take place Monday in New Paris Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to New Paris Church of the Brethren.
