Oliver Grant Griffith

Oliver Grant Griffith, 82, of Goshen, died late afternoon, Wednesday, December 6, 2006, at Greencroft Healthcare.   He was born February 7, 1924, in Chicago, Illinois, to Eugene and Vivian (smith) Griffith.  He was preceded in death by his first wife, Charlotte Benzies.  He married Joan Reedy on August 15, 1970 in Chicago.  She survives.   A resident of the area since 2002, coming from Willow Springs, Illinois, where he worked as an insurance salesman and assistant manager for John Hancock Life Insurance Company.  He also worked as a supervisor at Sunscript Pharmacy in Willow Springs, Illinois.   A World War II veteran, he was a member of the Hudson Lake Mennonite Church in New Carlisle.   He is survived by his wife, Joan; a son, Cameron Griffith of Winfield, Illinois; a daughter, Barbara Griffith of Macedonia, Ohio; two grandchildren; and a sister, Sandra DeLuca of Stafford, Texas.   He was preceded in death by his first wife and two brothers, Maurice Griffith and Robert Kuhlback.   Friends will be received 2 to 5:30 p.m., Sunday, December 10, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.   A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., (EST) on Monday, December 11, 2006 at the Hudson Lake Mennonite Church in New Carlisle.  Rev. Esther Lanting of the Hudson Lake Mennonite Church will officiate.   Military graveside services will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen, on Monday, December 11, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. (EST).   Memorial contributions may be made to the Hudson Lake Mennonite Church or Donor’s Choice.
