Olene Garber

Olene Garber, 98, of Goshen, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2023, at her home.

She was born September 24, 1924 in Middlebury to Jesse and Dora (Miller) Gardner.

On June 20, 1943 she married Robert K. Garber in Goshen.  He died June 27, 2017.

Survivors include four children, Sheryl (Bruce) Kooker of Apple Creek, Ohio, Wanda (Dean) Weirich and Stephen (Linda) Garber, both of Middlebury and Jerry (Jeanne) Garber of Vandalia, Michigan; daughter-in-law, Pam (John) Garber Billow, Bristol; 14 grandchildren; one step-grandchild; 25 great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Terry Garber; two grandchildren; a great-grandchild; three sisters, Ellen Miller, Verda Ewing and Mary Newhouser and three brothers, Charles, Victor and Frank Gardner.

A member of Pleasant View Church, Mrs. Garber was head of cafeteria at Jefferson School and then Northridge High School.  She volunteered at The Depot, Goshen and Rio Grande Bible Institute, Edinburg, Texas.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 6, 2023, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and Friday, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service at Pleasant View Church.  Pastor Mark Snyder and Deacon Norm Maust will officiate.  Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be given to Pleasant View Church.
