Norman Wilson, 66, died Monday afternoon, November 23, 2009, at his home in Goshen. He had been ill for many years. He was born to the late David and Marion (McCaw) Wilson on November 10, 1943, in Johnston, Scotland. He came to Indiana when he was three years old, and moved to Elkhart in 1968. He married Anne Bender on August 30, 1980. She survives. Mr. Wilson was a 1962 graduate of Portage High School; he was a member of the Dunlap United Methodist Church, where he served on the board of trustees. He was also a member of the United States Marine Corps where he served for four years on the USS Independence as a hydraulic and structural aircraft mechanic. He worked as a field engineer for General Telephone from 1968-1980, and he opened A&A Coin Investments where he worked until his death. He is survived by one son, Ryan (Rebecca) Wilson, Muskegon, Michigan; two sisters, Irene Smith, Atlanta, Georgia, Elizabeth Rospierski, Bridgman, Michigan; and three grandchildren, Tera, Hannah, and Olivia. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Friday, November 27, 2009 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. An 11 a.m., Saturday, November 28, memorial service will be held at the Dunlap United Methodist Church. Pastor Joe Smith is officiating. Burial will be in Rice Cemetery, Elkhart. Memorials may be made out to the Dunlap United Methodist Church.
