Norman E. Wert, Jr., 81, of Goshen, died Sunday, September 16, 2012, at his daughter's home. He had been in failing health the past several years. He was born March 25, 1931 in Goshen to Norman E. and Nellie (Yoder) Wert, Sr. He married Cora Miller August 19, 1950 in Goshen. She died February 10, 2000. He then married Doris C. (Sawyer) Randolph. She died February 15, 2006. He is survived by four daughters, Pamela (Dean) Kiser, Sherry (Johnny) Brockleman and Dawn (John) Marsh, all of Goshen, and Beverly (Kenneth) Shelton of Ravenden, Arkansas; three sons, Rex (Sue) Wert of Milford, and Dale (Terry) and Paul (Kim) Wert, both of Goshen; three step-daughters, Clara (Terry) Null and Diana Crawford, both of Goshen and Sandra (Dennis) Phebus of New Paris; a step-son, Bert (Barbara) Randolph of Goshen; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; and a half-sister, Linda (Larry) Brick of Goshen. A lifetime Goshen resident, Mr. Wert drove truck for Elkhart County Highway Department and Lakeland Sanitation. He had also worked as a butcher for Messick's Meat Market and Packing Company. He was a past member of Goshen Eagles and Moose Lodge. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, September 18, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 10 a.m., Wednesday, September 19, 2012, funeral service will be conducted. Burial will follow in West Goshen Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Goshen Center for Cancer Care.
