Norma Jean Zentz, 83, of Goshen, passed away early Monday morning, January 27, 2014 at her son's home. She was born October 27, 1930 in Goshen to Levi C. and Beulah M. (Peffley) VanderReyden. On November 27, 1949 she married Dallas Zentz in Goshen. He survives along with three sons, Joel W. (Laura) Zentz of Dunlap, Jon R. (Constance) Zentz of Goshen and Jeremy C. (Betsy) Zentz of New Paris; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Ellen Hartzler and three brothers, Harold, Cal and John VanderReyden. A lifetime Goshen resident, Mrs. Zentz graduated from Goshen High School in 1948. She had worked at Penn Controls and for the City of Goshen as2nd Deputy in the Clerk Treasurer's Office. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Goshen, where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. She was a member of the bowling league for four years. In addition to her family, her passions included gardening and flowers. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m., Wed. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and one hour prior to the 1 p.m., service on Thursday at First Baptist Church, Goshen. Dr. Gregg Lanzen and Pastor Jim Shrock will officiate. Burial will follow in Elkhart Prairie Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to Friends of Israel or First Baptist Church Goshen Building Fund.
