Norma J. Riegsecker, 78, of Goshen, died unexpectedly Friday, March 23, 2018.
She was born May 26, 1939 in Goshen to Verlin Shrock and Mary (Weaver) Shrock Risser.
On August 3, 1958 she married Marvin D. Riegsecker in Goshen. He died September 30, 2008.
Norma is survived by two sons, Steven (Andrea) Riegsecker of Chicago, Illinois, and Michael (Ann) Riegsecker of Appleton, Wisconsin; two grandsons, Alec and Drew, and a sister, Mary Helen (Dave) Davidsen of Goshen.
Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Charlene Shrock.
A 1957 graduate of Goshen High School, Norma devoted much of her married life to helping and supporting her husband, Marvin, in his work as a pharmacist, as an Elkhart County official, and as an Indiana State Senator. She volunteered with Center for Community Justice in Elkhart and, as an active member of College Mennonite Church, Norma was involved with the Stephen Ministries.
Friends may call Wednesday, March 28, 2018 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 9:30 a.m. prayer service will be held Thursday prior to burial in Violett Cemetery. An 11 a.m. memorial service at College Mennonite Church will follow the graveside service.
Memorials may be given to Center for Community Justice or Stephen Ministries, College Mennonite Church.
