Nora A. King, 90, of Goshen, died Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Miller’s Merry Manor, Wakarusa.

She was born August 30, 1931 in Middlebury to Vernon G. and Rosa A. (Metzler) Miller.

On September 3, 1950 she married Elmer King, Jr. in Goshen. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons, Robert (Susan) King of Mishawaka and David King of Goshen; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Mary Bradley of Elkhart, Shirley (Bruce) Hamilton of Portland, Oregon, Carol Tice of Elkhart, and Betty (Joe) Gruber of Mendon, Michigan.

Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Thomas King; and four brothers, Lester “Red”, George, Jesse and James Miller.

Nora was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was always taking care of her families, both her actual family and her bowling family.

An avid bowler for most of her adult life, Nora won many awards and honors for her bowling prowess, including being a charter inductee into the Goshen Bowling Hall of Fame in 1998. She was an organizer and secretary/treasurer of many leagues in Goshen over the years.

Prior to her work at Maple City Bowl, Nora was a long-time employee at Smith’s Food Center and she also worked for the Goshen News.

Nora always wanted to be involved. She will by deeply missed by her family and her many friends.

Private services will take place at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, with burial in Elkhart Prairie Cemetery.
