Nina Kuczeruk, 91, passed away Saturday, November 27, 2010, at Renaissance Village, Fort Wayne. She was born on May 8, 1919 in Dubno, Ukraine. Nina and her husband, Jacob, and daughter, Leda, immigrated to the US in 1951. They were sponsored by the Mennonite Church and settled in Nappanee. They obtained citizenship in 1958. Surviving are a daughter, Leda (Dennis) Melching of Fort Wayne; a son, Terry (Ellen) Kuczeruk of Zionsville; two grandchildren, Jake and Emma; and a sister in Ukraine. She was preceded by her husband, Jacob; her parents, Andrey and Oksana Elchishon; and two sisters, Nadja and Katya. A longtime member of Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Goshen, she enjoyed crocheting, quilting, gardening, cooking and growing flowers. She loved her family and adored her grandchildren, Jake and Emma. Private services were conducted Wednesday, December 1, 2010, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and she was laid to rest beside her husband at Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen.
