Neva I. Vance                                                                                        Neva I. Vance, 86, of Goshen, died Sunday afternoon, January 20, 2008, at Goshen General Hospital where she had been for six days. She was born in Goshen on January 10, 1922 to Oliver and Nellie (Smith) Hoke.  She married Allen L. Vance on September 29, 1940 in Goshen.  He survives. A homemaker, Mrs. Vance graduated from Goshen High School in 1939.  She had worked at Goshen General Hospital and Myers Drug Store.  She was a member of Goshen City Church of the Brethren where she taught Sunday School for many years.  She enjoyed her grandchildren, reading and needlework. She is survived by her husband, Allen; two daughters, Cheryl Bowman and Debra (Paul) Jones, both of Goshen; three sons, Jeffrey (Gail) Vance of Elkhart, Michael (Sandy) Vance of New Paris, and Timothy (Pat) Vance of South Bend; a daughter-in-law, Susan Vance of Goshen; 23 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Margaret (Lamar) Paflos of Goshen. She was preceded in death by a son, Patrick Vance on April 12, 2007; two sisters, Mildred Cornelius and Helen Throne; three brothers, John, Gordon and Burdett Hoke; two grandsons, Robert and Jeffrey Vance; and great-granddaughter, Peyton Bowman. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, January 25, and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home. A 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 26, 2008, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  Pastor Carol Waggy and Licensed Minister, Tim Yoder, both of Goshen City Church of the Brethren will officiate. Burial will be in West Goshen Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to Goshen City Church of the Brethren.
