Neva P. Kriner, 91, of Elkhart died Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Kindred Nursing and Rehabilitation - Valley View, Elkhart.
She was born November 9, 1925 in Core, West Virginia to Arley and Martha Mazella (Moore) Walls.
On September 2, 1949 she married Everett Franklin Swartz in Oakland, Maryland. He died in 1964.
Survivors include three daughters, Judy (Raymond) Dafonzo of Maidsville, West Virginia, Connie Jones of Hagerstown, Maryland and Pam McCarney of Goshen; a son, Jerry (Rita) Swartz of Biglerville, Pennsylvania; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Norene Spitsnogle of McKeysport, Pennsylvania.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings; Oscar, Ottie and Alma Ammons, Learnie, Claude, Tom, Dale, Russell, and Lieuella Walls, Loreene Lightfoot, and an infant sibling in 1916.
Neva worked in the naval yard in Portsmouth, Virginia during WWII assembling ships. She later worked in a factory that made military tanks.
A devout Christian of the Methodist faith, Neva enjoyed gardening and was an excellent cook and seamstress.
Friends may call Thursday, June 29, 2017 one hour prior to the 11 a.m. memorial service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. Rev. Ed Fritz will officiate
Cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory, Goshen.
