Neil E. Holbrook, 62, of Goshen, died Thursday, October 8, 2020, after a motorcycle accident on I-69 in Indianapolis.

He was born May 16, 1958 in Hammond to Gerald and Harriet (Dooley) Holbrook

On May 19, 1984 he married Jenny E. Gebel in Munster.

She survives along with three children, Elizabeth A. Holbrook of Wausau, Wisconsin and Robert E. Holbrook and Amy L. Holbrook, both of Goshen; father, Gerald; a brother, Steven (Beth) Holbrook of Bloomington; and five nephews and a niece.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Neil graduated in 1976 from Hammond High School, in 1980 from Indiana University and in 2012 from Bethel College with a degree in nursing.  Since 2015 Neil has been working at Greencroft Healthcare.

He was a long-time member of both the Goshen Noon and Maple City Kiwanis Clubs, Gourmet Rider Motorcycle Club and Lake Area Community Band.  Neil also volunteered as an umpire for Goshen Little League and had served on their board at one time.

Neil was a lifelong fan of I.U., Chicago Blackhawks, Chicago White Sox and Chicago Bears.  He was a NASCAR fanatic and loved Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt.

A private funeral service will take place at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  Rev. Alan Griffin, First Presbyterian Church, where he was a member, will officiate.

The family requests masks be worn and social distancing be observed.

Memorial donations may be given to Greyt Angels Greyhound Adoption or Lake Area Community Band.
