Neil B. Graves, 77, of Goshen, Indiana, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, June 13, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on June 8, 1949, in Bedford, Indiana, to the late Herman and Juanita (Brown) Graves.
On April 15, 1983, Neil married Susan (Schrock) Graves in Goshen, sharing 43 years of marriage and building a beautiful life together.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Susan Graves of Goshen; two sons, Chad (Holly) Graves of Mishawaka, and Brent Graves of Syracuse; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Neil was preceded in death by his brothers, Don Graves, Jim Graves, and Allen Graves; and his sisters, Janice Reed and Betty Victory.
Neil graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Purdue University and dedicated his professional life to public safety and security. He served with honor as a State Trooper for the Indiana State Police starting in 1972. He worked his way up to detective until his retirement in 1997. Following his service with the state, Neil transitioned into corporate security, working diligently for Per Mar Security Services before officially retiring in 2022.
Neil was a member of Goshen First Church and was a dedicated Mason. A former member of the Maplecrest country club, he was a passionate golfer, proudly winning the Goshen City Championship five times. Above all his achievements, Neil cherished time spent with his family and grandchildren, especially during the summer months.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 17, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm, as well as Thursday, June 18, 2026, from 10:00 until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at West Goshen Cemetery, where Neil will be laid to rest with his Masonic apron.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
