Ned L. Farber

Mr. Ned L. Farber, 89, of Goshen, died early Thursday morning, November 23, 2006, at Greencroft Healthcare where he had been a patient since November 1.  He was born February 28, 1917, in Harrison Township, Indiana, to Christian and Mabel (Clark) Farber.  He married Agda Mitchell on December 15, 1945, in Goshen.  She survives.   A lifelong resident of the area, Mr. Farber worked with the US Postal Service from 1948 to 1976.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Goshen and Maplecrest Country Club where he enjoyed golfing.   A 1935 graduate of Goshen High School, Mr. Farber served in the US Army during World War II in the 997 Signal Service Company in the Pacific Theater.  He was a member of the VFW Post #985, American Legion Post #30, and the National Rifle Association.  He enjoyed competing in marksmanship matches at the St. Joseph Rifle and Pistol Club.   He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred and Vera; and three brothers, Lowell, Clark and Kenneth.   Friends will be received 2 to 4:30 p.m., Monday, November 27, at the funeral home.   An 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 28, 2006, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  Pam Kling, Pastoral Assistant of First United Methodist Church, Goshen, and Dee Swartz, Greencroft Chaplain, will officiate.   Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen.   Memorial contributions may be designated to the Goshen Boys and Girls Club or Goshen Hospital Foundation Hospice Programs.
