Naomi Fogelsonger Greenwalt

Naomi (Fogelsonger) Greenwalt, 91, of Grandville, Michigan, died Thursday afternoon, December 29, 2005, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She was born January 6, 1914, in New Paris, Indiana, to Harvey Milton and Ruth (Whitehead) Fogelsonger.  On June 7, 1958, at the United Methodist Chapel in Elkhart, she married Leon Greenwalt.  He died January 6, 1993.   She was a member of the Eighth Street Mennonite Church, Goshen.  She retired in 1975 after 35 years of teaching.  She had taught at Jefferson High School and then at Concord High School in the Business Department for 31 years.   Mrs. Greenwalt received degrees from Manchester College and then Indiana University.  She was active in Elkhart County Retired Teachers’ Association.  She loved to travel and enjoyed live theatre and concerts.  She was also an avid reader and did needlework.   She is survived by a daughter, Janet (William) Idema of Wyoming, Michigan; a son, Allan (Diane) Fisher of Rockford, Michigan; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson.   She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon and a sister June Croop.   Friends may call Saturday, December 31, from noon to 1:00 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.   Pastor Kevin Farmwald of Eighth Street Mennonite Church, Goshen, will officiate the 1:00 p.m. funeral service on Saturday, December 31, 2005, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.   Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery, Goshen.   Memorial contributions may be made to Eighth Street Mennonite Church in lieu of flowers
