Nancy L. Yoder 68, of Goshen, died Saturday January 26, 2013, at her home after an 18 month illness. She was born March 2, 1944 in Nappanee to Thomas and Pearl (Adams) Pletcher. On May 2, 1970 she married Romayne Yoder. He survives. Also surviving are three children; a daughter, Tonya (Allan) Ross, of Warsaw; two sons, Kirt (Melinda) Sechrist, of Carpio, N.D., and Brent (Ivory) Yoder, of Goshen; nine grandchildren, Brittany (Jeremy), Brandy, Megan, Caitlin, Brianna, MacKenzie, Malia, Kirt, Jr., and Cody; a great grandson, Colin; three sisters, Linda (Larry) Coffel, of Ft. Wayne, Sue Shoemaker, of Goshen, and Connie (Roy) Brock, of Nappanee. A lifetime area resident, Nancy worked at Coppes Kitchens, Nappanee for a few years before working at many different job descriptions at Johnson Controls for more than 30 years, where she also served as union steward. Nancy also had worked during her retirement at the Salvation Army, Goshen. Rarely apart from her husband, spoiling and spending quality time with her grandchildren, was her primary love and passion in life. In quiet moments she enjoyed crosswords puzzles. Nancy treasured the companionship of her little white dog, Oliver. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. Tuesday January 29, 2013, and one hour prior to the 2 p.m. Wednesday January 30, 2013 funeral service, all at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Chaplain Marshall Donegan of the Elkhart County Sheriff's Department will officiate. Burial will follow at Miller 8 Square Cemetery, where her grandchildren will carry her to her place of rest. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Elkhart County Women's Shelter, or the Elkhart County Humane Society.
