Nancy E. Rickman, 65, loving mother and grandmother, of Goshen, died early Monday morning, September 26, 2011, at Goshen Hospital following a brief illness of 12 days. She was born March 13, 1946, in Logansport, to Raymond Small and Nellie Virginia (Replogle) Frye. On August 16, 1986 she married Willie "Joe" Rickman in Weston, Michigan. He survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Patty Jones Hite of Goshen; two sons, Jimmie (Vicki) Jones of Elkhart, and Gerald Gilbert, Jr. of Battle Creek, Michigan; three step-daughters, Susan (Bruce) Ralston of Brownsburg, Cynthia (Doug) Schneider of Sand Creek, Michigan, and Diane (Rick) Sartor of Toledo, Ohio; three step-sons, John (Sandy) Rickman of Summerfield, Florida, Joseph M. Rickman and Edward (Jody) Rickman, both of Toledo, Ohio; five grandchildren; 19 step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Raymond "Butch" (Sharon) Small of Logansport, Forrest (Carol) Small of Columbia City, and Morris (Linda) Small of Logansport. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Cheryl Jones and Virginia "Jinny" Eash. A longtime Goshen resident, Mrs. Rickman was a breast cancer survivor. A homemaker, she was a member of the Goshen Moose. She enjoyed camping, miniature golf, shopping, and time with her family. She never knew a stranger. Friends may call 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday, September 29, and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. An 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 30, 2011, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Her body will be cremated and burial will be at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Goshen Center for Cancer Care, for treatment of breast cancer.
