Nancy J. Miller, 71, of New Paris died Saturday, December 22, 2018 after a recent heart diagnosis.
She was born June 25, 1947 in Goshen to William Lamar and Marilyn (Gardner) Reith.
On June 10, 1972 she married Waldo Gaby. He died in 1980. She married Jonathan Lee Miller on Feb. 5, 1983. Together they enjoyed 35 years of marriage.
Along with her husband, survivors include two sons, Christopher (fiancée Kami) Gaby of Winona Lake and Mark (Sonny) Gaby of Syracuse; her mother, Marilyn Reith of Goshen; step-children, Bradley (Lisa) Gaby of Woodland, California, Lois (Donald) Woods of New Paris, and Lane (Lisa) Gaby, of Mishawaka; 10 grandchildren; and a sister, Linda (Denny) Kimpel of Goshen.
A member of Community Church of Waterford since it began more than 20 years ago, Nancy played keyboard and saxophone for worship services. She was a devout Christian who loved God and Jesus.
Nancy received her master’s degree in music education from New Mexico Highlands University. She taught private piano lessons in her home for 35 years and was involved in community music education. She worked as an administrative assistant to the academic dean at Goshen College, and was currently employed at Micrology Labs, Goshen.
Nancy enjoyed many hobbies including making jewelry, gardening and working with flowers. She always decorated during the Christmas season, with special attention to the tall pine tree at her home.
A loving wife, mother and grandmother, her presence of life will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. Pastor Chris Russell, Community Church of Waterford will officiate.
