Nancy M. Gurka

Nancy M. Gurka, 83, of Goshen, died Tuesday afternoon, May 13, 2014, at The Maples at Waterford Crossing. She was born October 31, 1930 in Elkhart to Walter and Hazel (Carpenter) Fager. On January 28, 1974 she married Stanley J. Gurka in Elkhart. He died January 28, 2003. She is survived by a step-daughter, Susan (Bud) Kurtz, of Goshen; grandchildren, Joel (Darla) Conrad and Jeff (Samantha) Conrad; six great-grandchildren; and 19 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and four brothers, Charles, Roy, George and Ronald Fager. A lifelong area resident, Nancy worked in production at Miles-Bayer for 42 years. She was a member of the Miles Quarter Century Club and the Bethany Church of the Brethren, New Paris, where she was active in the women's fellowship. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2014, at Yoder- Culp Funeral Home, Goshen, and one hour prior to the 2 p.m. Sunday, May 18, 2014, funeral service at Bethany Church of the Brethren, 19003 U.S. 6, New Paris. Rev. Tim Sollenberger Morphew will officiate. Burial at Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen, will take place at 9:30 a.m. Monday, May 19, 2014.
