Nancy E. Groff, 80, of Millersburg, died Monday, May 27, 2019, at home.
She was born October 18, 1938 in Millersburg to H. Horace and Cleo V. (Reed) Virgil.
On October 19, 1956, she married Richard L. Groff in Ligonier. He died January 29, 2015.
Survivors include three sons, Tod (Becky) Groff of Logansport, Ted (Amy) Groff of Ligonier and Tad (Diane) Groff of Millersburg; six grandchildren, Seth (Amanda), Ethan, Quinn (Jenna), Emma, Cara and Beck Groff; and two siblings, Dr. Albert E. Virgil of Columbus, Ohio and Marilee (Rick) Keim of Benton.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Victor Virgil.
A teacher at Chandler Elementary School for 31 years, Mrs. Groff was completely dedicated to serving other people.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 30, 2019, from 1 to 3 and 5 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 31, funeral service will be held at Zion Community Church, where she was a lifelong, active member. Rev. Dick Carpenter, Burr Oak, and Pastor Jeff Lewis will officiate.
Mrs. Groff has donated her body to the Anatomical Education Program of Indiana University School of Medicine so burial will be at a later date in Brown Cemetery, Millersburg.
