Nancy E. Adcock

April 23, 1925 — March 29, 2013

Nancy E. Adcock, 87, of Nappanee and formerly of Elkhart, died Friday afternoon, March 29, 2013, at Elkhart General Hospital. She was born April 23, 1925 in Caneyville, Kentucky, to Jack and Ella Marie (Glaysbooks) Hayes. She married Leonard C. Adcock March 30, 1943 in Louisville. He died October 17, 2002. She is survived by a daughter, Velma (Wayne) Ridenour of Goshen; five sons, Leonard Adcock, Jr. of Georgia, Charles (Sharon) Adcock of Lagro, Raymond (JoAnn) Adcock of Spencerville, William Adcock of Edwardsburg, Michigan, and Jack (Joyce) Adcock ofGoshen; 20 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Daymond Adcock; a step grandson, Marvin Lee Trost; six brothers, Sherman, Wilbur, Junior, Foster, Randolph and Isaac Mac Hayes; and two sisters, Cordelia McCreary and Ravenia Cooper. A homemaker and longtime area resident, Mrs. Adcock enjoyed crocheting, baking cookies and making caramel corn. Friends may call on Tuesday, April 2, 2013, from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Grandsons, James Adcock and Ryan Adcock, will officiate. Burial will follow in Rice Cemetery, Elkhart.
