Myrtle Molly Myers, 99, of Goshen, died Sunday, September 17, 2017, at Greencroft Healthcare, following a period of declining health.
She was born October 3, 1917 in Manson, Iowa to Dan H. and Lena (Egli) Miller. In 1936 she, with her family, moved to Crawford County, Pennsylvania, where she lived until 2000 when she moved to Goshen.
She married Willis D. Myers in 1941.
She was a charter member of Sunnyside Mennonite Church, Conneaut Lake, Pennsylvania. Shortly before moving to Indiana, she attended High Street Community Church, Conneaut Lake. She was a faithful wife, devoted mother and grandmother and an avid quilter. She was a willing worker in the church fellowships she belonged to, having taught Sunday school and Bible school and participating in women’s ministries.
Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn (Ben) Raber of Quarryville, Pennsylvania and Dorie (Cliff) Hochstedler of Goshen; four sons, Dr. James Myers of Charlotte, Michigan, Russell (Lenora) Myers of Cochranton, Pennsylvania, W. Robert (Cyndi) Myers of Milton, Florida and Dr. Lyle (Christine) Myers of Savannah, Georgia; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a sister, Alice Oswald of Kettering, Ohio.
Along with her parents and husband of 57 years, she was preceded in death by nine siblings, Maude (George) Shetler, Joseph D. (Esther) Miller, Kate (Albert) Birky, Jess (Ada) Miller, Goldie (Harold) Oyer, Orval (Marjorie) Miller, Silda (Harvey) Birkey, Sanford (Theresa 1st, Frances 2nd) Miller and Pearl (Delmar) Oswald.
Visitation will be Friday, September 22, 2017 one hour prior to the 4 p.m. funeral service at the Meetinghouse at Greencroft, Goshen.
A private burial will take place at Sunnyside Mennonite Cemetery, Conneaut Lake, Pennsylvania.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Mennonite Disaster Service
Yoder-Culp Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
