Myrtle A. Goss, 90, of Goshen, died early Thursday morning, December 7, 2006, at her son’s home. She had been ill since Labor Day. She was born September 18, 1916, in Omega, Georgia, to Ralph and Etta (Green) Sumner. She married Ellsworth Goss on November 3, 1937, in Goshen. He died August 27, 1996. A resident of the area from 1937 to 1972, when she moved to Florida, Mrs. Goss owned and operated the Ellsworth Motel, the first two-level motel in Indiana, in Goshen. She also owned and operated Ells’es, The Lamp Shop and Mr. G’s. She is survived by two sons, Thomas (Cathy) Goss of Goshen and Robert (Chris) Goss of St. Augustine, Florida; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Grace Thompson of Haines City, Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Donald Phillip Goss; four brothers; and two sisters. Friends will be received 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, December 10, at the funeral home. A 10:00 a.m. service will be conducted on Monday, December 11, 2006, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Tim Yoder will officiate. Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
