Marti passed away peacefully in her childhood home in Goshen, after battling Multiple Myeloma blood cancer for many years. She had family and a dear friend by her side.
Marti was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and was placed for adoption at Bethany Orphanage in Kentucky around the age of 4 along with her brother. They were adopted a couple years later. Marti had fond memories of Kentucky and always wanted to revisit the orphanage,
in her later years.
She attended Mount Carmel High School in Kentucky for her Sophomore - Junior year, and graduated from New Paris High School in 1964. She attended Bethany College for four years in Mishawaka, Indiana. Throughout her mid 20's and on Marti lived in several places; Chicago, Illinois, Racine, Wisconsin, Poratage, Wisconsin, Fullerton, California and returned to Goshen, in late 2017 with her husband to enjoy her golden years in the home she grew up in. She had several jobs throughout her life, but she enjoyed working for Dungarven, as a care aide in Portage, Wisconsin the most.
Marti's favorite things to do were cook for her family, take long drives with her husband and daughter, find new places to go have breakfast, crochet blankets when she found out someone was having a baby, read Amish or mystery books, attend church, bible study,
write emails to friends, play piano or organ and in her later years sing christian songs and hymns.
She is preceded in death by her adoptive parents Wilbur and Cora Anglemyer, her brother William (Bill) Anglemyer, and beloved daughter Theresa Springer.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years Michael Fleury of Goshen, daughter Janelle Fleury of Goshen, Godson Michael (Mikey) Gordon of Racine, Wisconsin, her biological cousin Charles Campbell of Whitehall, Ohio with whom she began a relationship with a few years ago after joining ancestry DNA and as well as several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Marti will be remembered for her genuine kindness to all she met, her amazing strength and grace throughout her illness and her unwavering faith and love of Jesus Christ. Mike and Janelle hope that it will bring comfort to everyone who loved her that she is no longer in any pain, nor does she have any mobility restrictions and she is reunited with her daughter Theresa.
The family wishes to thank Goshen Home Health and Hospice for their kind care of Marti. Especially nurses Laura and Jamie. Her special aid turned family friend Charlie Mccombie and Marti's forever friend Sue Hess. Marti's days were much better when both of you were in them.
In lieu of flowers the family asks you ,make a donation in her name to The Christopher and Dana Reeves Foundation for paralysis.
