Goshen-Myra M. Gunden, 95, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 29 at Greencroft Healthcare.
She was born Oct. 2, 1921 in Flanagan, Illinois to Eli and Emma (Beller) Roeschley.
On May 30, 1947 she married Cleland Gunden in Flanagan. He died May 8, 2004.
Survivors include two daughters, Rosemary (David) Widmer, Goshen and Alice (Michael) Bender, Washington, DC; two sons, Tom (Julie) Gunden, Milford and Philip (Laura) Gunden, Littleton, Colorado; 11 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Betty Roeschley of Flanagan, Illinois and a brother-in-law, Don White, Bethesda, Maryland.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, Wilma Roeschley and Sally White and a brother, Burdell Roeschley.
Myra was an active member of College Mennonite Church since moving to the area in 1947.
A graduate of Goshen College, she was an elementary school teacher for 30 years in Graymont, Illinois schools and Milford Elementary School. She was a member of the Indiana State Teachers’ Association.
Friends may call Friday from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.
A 10:30 a.m., Saturday, memorial service will be conducted at College Mennonite Church with Pastors Ron Kennel and Gwen Gustafson Zook officiating.
A family graveside service at Violett Cemetery will precede the memorial service.
