Monnie L. Lee, 100, of Goshen, died Monday, October 2, 2017, at Courtyard Healthcare.
She was born July 11, 1917 in Artville, Kentucky to R.R. and Rosa (Davis) Whitaker.
On November 27, 1936 she married Charles E. Lee in West Liberty, Kentucky. He died June 19, 1995.
She is survived by a son, Doug (Marcia) Lee of Goshen; seven grandchildren, Eric (Shirley) Neumann, Bremen, Georgia, Erin (Edward) Gerwels, Bristol, Alise (Glen) Davidson, Columbus, Ohio, Alane (Brian) Stutzman, New Paris, Charles (Julia) Lee, Cary, North Carolina, Stephanie (Shane) Gladden, Anthem, Arizona and Stacy (Hernan) Perez, Phoenix, Arizona; 16 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a daughter, Charlotte Neumann; two sons, Charles and Stephen Lee; a grandson, David C. Lee; five sisters, Gertie Dingus, Emma Burke, Wonnie Dunn, Julia Byrd and Beulah Collinsworth and four brothers, David, Darwin, John and Woody Whitaker.
A 60 year member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, Mrs. Lee worked at Johnson Controls for 30 years.
Friends may call Thursday, October 5, 2017, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 1 p.m. Friday funeral service will be conducted. Dr. James VanCuren will officiate.
Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Goshen Salvation Army or a charity of the donor’s choice.
