Monna R. Chrisman

Monna R. Chrisman, 72, of Goshen, died early Sunday morning, November 1, 2009, at Goshen General Hospital. She was born in Goshen on May 31, 1937, to the late Clyde E. and Mildred (Weir) Dorsett.  She married Carroll G. Chrisman on February 27, 1960 in Goshen.  He survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Hillary J. Chrisman of Goshen; a daughter-in-law, Lisa Chrisman of Goshen; two grandchildren; and a twin sister, Donna (Arthur) Henkel of South Bend. She was preceded in death by a son, Christopher C. Chrisman on December 29, 2005, and a brother, Donald R. Dorsett. She graduated from Goshen High School in 1955 where she was named Senior Girl of the Year.  She attended Franklin College and graduated from Goshen College in 1975. Mrs. Chrisman worked as a teacher at Fairfield Junior High School and Weiland Design as a group leader until her retirement in 1991.  She enjoyed reading and animals, especially dogs.  Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where an 11:00 a.m.  memorial service will be held. Burial will be in Brown Cemetery, Millersburg, at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Elkhart County Humane Society or her grandchildren’s college fund.
