Milton Joseph Brunk, 94, of Goshen, died Friday, August 15, 2014. He was born April 21, 1920 in Denbigh, Virginia to Joseph E. and Alice (Yoder) Brunk. Milt attended Goshen High School for three years and then graduated from Redondo Beach (CA) High School in 1938. He earned a Bachelor's degree from the Goshen College in 1942 Milt was an engineer at Penn Electric, Barler's and Stoutco before purchasing Northland Engineering. He received patents for his designs relating to the RV industry. He served as a democrat councilman on the Goshen City Council from 1956 to 1960. Milt never knew a stranger, read hundreds of mystery books, regaled friends with slightly irreverent stories, faithfully wrote circle letters to his siblings and hunted for elk and deer with friends in Montana for over 35 years. He loved his time spent with family and friends in the Florida Keys. He had an insatiable curiosity and shared his knowledge of geology, art, nature and science with his daughters. He is survived by his wife Kathleen; their three daughters, Mary Alice (Hale) Newman (Hale), Linda Coddington (David, deceased) and Jeanne Brunk; granddaughter Julie Lee and great-grandson Robert; siblings Adella Kanagy and Mabel Brunk. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ivan. Our family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Greencroft Nursing Center for all the love, respect, and enriching friendships shared with our father. The family has celebrated Milt's life as he requested. Memorials may be made to Goshen College for the Brunk's Cabin Fund, Development Department, 1700 S. Main, Goshen, IN 46526.
