Mildred J. Stevens, 83, of Syracuse died at 3:50 a.m. Sunday, September 9, 2012, at Miller's Merry Manor, Syracuse, where she had been a resident since March 3rd. She was born February 3, 1929 in Ligonier to the late Rollin and Golda (Eaton) Bailey. On July 11, 1956 she married Charles D. Stevens in Goshen. He died March 23, 2003. Mildred owned and operated "Millie's Fashion Wagon" located in Peddler's Village, Goshen, for 25 years. Prior to that she had worked at Monsanto and Essex Wire in Ligonier. She enjoyed garage sales and was a member of the Benton Free Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons; Roger Lantz of Mesa, Arizona and Danny (Janet) Lantz of Syracuse. Both sons were from a previous marriage to Floyd Lantz. She is also survived by six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild. Millie was preceded in death by her parents; six sisters, Marie Swihart, Bessie Pappas, LaVerne King, Martha Swinehart and infants Maude and Myrtle Bailey; and five brothers, Monroe, Wilbur, Hubert, Arthur, and infant Clifford Bailey. Friends by call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, September 7, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, where a 10 a.m., Saturday, funeral service will be held. The Rev. Lenny Krebs will officiate. Burial will follow at Brown Cemetery, Millersburg. Memorials may be made to the Window, 223 S. Main St., Goshen or to any food bank of your choice.
