Mildred E. Schrock

Mildred E. (Berkey) Schrock, 88, of Goshen died Wednesday morning, May 24, 2017, at The Maples at Waterford Crossing, after a recent diagnosis of cancer.

Mildred was born August 18, 1928 in Goshen to Roy and Ruth (Bowman) Berkey.

On Sunday, June 4, 1956 she married Orlin J. Schrock Jr. at the First United Methodist Church in Goshen.

Orlin “Bud” Schrock survives along with sons, Bradley and his wife Marti and daughter Madison Long of Franklin and Jeff of Goshen; sister-in-law, Marjorie Berkey, along with nephews, Bruce and David Berkey and niece, Patty Beachy all of Nappanee; nephew Joe Atz, and nieces, Debra Fagas and Cathy Kreigh all of Kendallville.

Along with her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her brother Harold L Berkey, who died September 21, 2016.

Mildred had a love for children and her family. During her working years, she held various jobs at Penn Controls, Wilber Berkey Insurance Agency, Planks Printing which later becoming Rapid Ribbons, and the Auditor’s office for Elkhart County. Mildred was also a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts, as well as holding various chairman positions at the First United Methodist Church and hosting tour groups for Greencroft nursing home retirees.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 25, 2017, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, 1911 S Main St, Goshen. Funeral services will be held at Yoder-Culp Friday, May 26, 2017; at 10 a.m. Pastors Ed and Brenda Fritz will officiate.

Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery.
