Mildred E. Groce

Mildred Ellen Groce, 85, of Greencroft Healthcare, Goshen, formerly of Scottdale, Pennsylvania, departed this life on Sunday, October 16, 2011. She was born February 16, 1926 to the late Clarence and Ida Mae (Price) Bailey, in Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania. She married Marshall T. Groce Jr. on January 31, 1945. He died April 24, 1970. She is survived by two sons, Marshall T. Groce III, and his wife Deidre, of Warrick, Rhode Island and Kenneth H. Groce, of Graham, North Carolina; two daughters Cheryl Campbell and her husband Don, of North Glenn, Colorado, and Kim Macon and her husband Carl, of Elkhart; three grandchildren, Mrs. Dianna Imrie and her husband Tom, of Weymouth, Massachusetts; Ms. Andrea Groce of North Kingston, Rhode Island; and Cameron Macon and his fiancée Masika Williams, of Indianapolis; and a great-grandson, Cameron Macon Jr. of Indianapolis; two sisters, Mrs. Irene Corbin of West Newton, Pennsylvania, and Mrs. Ida Pearl Murdock of Washington, DC. Mrs. Groce was also preceded in death by three brothers, Clarence, Albert and Wilbert Bailey, and four sisters, Eva Bailey, Mrs. Louise Smith, Mrs. Thelma Terry, and Mrs. Olgie Green. Mrs. Groce was a past member of Morning Star Baptist Church, and a homemaker who loved to crochet, work crossword puzzles and read. Friends may call 5 to 7p.m., Thursday October 20th at Yoder Culp Funeral Home. There will also be visitation on Friday, October 21st from 6 to 8 p.m. at Frank Kapr Funeral Home, 417 Pittsburgh Street, Scottdale, Pennsylvania, where the funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday October 22nd with interment following in Scottdale Cemetery.
