Mildred G. Cripe, 85, of Goshen, passed away Thursday afternoon, October 8, 2015 at Greencroft Healthcare. She was born March 22, 1930 in Benton to John G. and Virgil (Bunger) Showalter. Mildred is survived by two daughters, Vonda Huff of Mishawaka and Renee (Greg) Miller of Goshen; two sons, Kurt (Jill) Cripe of Fort Wayne and Karl (Linda) Cripe of Bristol; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Harold Showalter of Elkhart. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Carol Rockenbaugh and a brother, Hugh Showalter. She graduated in 1947 from Millersburg High School and was on the Dean's List at Ivy Tech while working to earn a degree in accounting. She worked as a secretary for Square Deal Tool and Die, Elkhart from 1982 until her retirement in 1995. Mrs. Cripe was a member of Plymouth United Church of Christ and the American Legion Auxiliary. Private services will be held at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home with burial at a later date in Oakridge Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be given to Greencroft Healthcare and designated to the Activities Department.
