Mildred J. Chaney, 93, of Goshen, died early Thursday morning, August 30, 2007, at her home. She was born in Paldon, Missouri, on August 27, 1914, to the late Oscar and Laura (Dalton) Nuckols. She married Clay William Chaney on February 8, 1930. He preceded her on January 27, 1978. A homemaker and a member of the Goshen United Pentecostal Church, Goshen, Mrs. Chaney is survived by five daughters, Geraldine (Eulis) Greathouse of Belleville, Illinois, Jeanette (Larry) Losee and Ann (Charles) Ragland, both of Elkhart, Sue (Jesse) Hollis and Carla Borzeninatow, both of Goshen; five sons, Leroy (Norma) Chaney of Dunlap, James Chaney and Larry (Brenda) Chaney, both of Goshen, Tom Chaney of Elkhart, and Will (Dora) Chaney of Salt Lake City, Utah. She is also survived by 33 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Stella Gathins of Paragould, Arkansas; and a brother, Melvin Nuckols of St. Louis, Missouri. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, September 1, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the church. A 2:00 p.m. funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, September 2, 2007, at the Goshen United Pentecostal Church, 501 N. Indiana Ave., Goshen. Rev. Gary Roberts will officiate. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Garden, Osceola, at a later date.
