Michelle Ann "Shelley" O'Beirne

Michelle Ann “Shelly” O’Beirne, 43, of Goshen, died Monday afternoon, January 5, 2008, at Goshen General Hospital where she had been a patient since December 26.  She had been ill since April. She was born in Goshen on June 22, 1965, to Dennis and Harriet (Musser) Treat.  She married Bernard F. “Bernie” O’Beirne in Goshen on November 2, 2007.  He survives. A lifelong resident of the Goshen area, Mrs. O’Beirne had worked for the Goshen News for more than 11 years, mostly as a Customer Service representative.  She was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan and enjoyed collecting M&M memorabilia. She is survived by her husband, Bernie; her father, Dennis Treat of Goshen; a daughter, Cassandra “Cassie” Moreland at home; five sons, Joshua E. (Rachel) Moreland of New Paris, and Dillon, Damian, Jacob and Caleb Moreland, all at home; six grandchildren; two sisters, Eugenia “Gina” Marner and Flora Owens, both of Goshen; and two brothers, Dennis (Kristina) Treat of Osceola, and Wayne (Michelle) Treat of Elkhart. She was preceded in death by her mother, Harriet Treat. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2009, at 3:00 p.m., at the Bethany Church of the Brethren.  Pastor Tim Sollenberger-Morphew will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the family for the benefit of her children.
