Michael Brian Wright, age 50, of Goshen, Indiana, unexpectedly passed away on June 8, 2026. While our hearts are broken by this loss, we are grateful for the years, memories, laughter, and love he shared with all who knew him.

Born on November 27, 1975, in Evergreen, Colorado, Michael was the beloved son of Raymond and Bonnie (Gentry) Wright. He lived a life marked by hard work, loyalty, humor, and a deep love for the people who mattered most to him.

Above all else, Michael was a devoted father to Teagan, Simon, and Mazzy. His children were the light of his life, and he was proud of each of them. The love he had for them was immeasurable, and the memories they shared together will remain a lasting treasure in their hearts.

Michael worked in RV sales and spent much of his life helping others succeed. Being a chef with a big passion of his, and he loved to cook for his friends and family, as well as strangers that visited restaurants that he worked at.

He played a role in starting and supporting several local restaurants and was always willing to share his knowledge, lend a hand, or encourage someone who needed it. His generosity and willingness to help others never went unnoticed.

He is survived by his wife Anita (Lueders)Wright; his children, Teagan, Simon, and Mazzy of Goshen, Indiana; his brother Mark (Kerri) Wright; his sister Kristine Wright; and sister-in-law Colene Wright all of Utah, many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Bonnie (Gentry) Wright; his brothers Matthew Wright & Greg Wright and his sister Sharon Wright.

Michael found joy in many things throughout his life. He loved fishing, camping, and spending time outdoors. He enjoyed collecting firearms, shooting, and sharing stories around a campfire. A lifelong fan of video games, especially Halo, he appreciated friendly competition and the connections it created. In his younger years, he participated in wrestling, lacrosse, skateboarding, and snowboarding, embracing adventure and living life with enthusiasm.

Those who knew Michael will remember his quick wit, his big heart, and his ability to make people laugh when they needed it most. He was loving known as “Smiley” by all of those who knew him. He was a loyal friend, a caring father, a beloved son and brother, and a person whose presence brought comfort and companionship to many. His life touched far more people than he likely ever realized.

While words cannot fully express the sorrow of losing him, they also cannot fully capture the love he leaves behind. Michael's family and friends will forever cherish the memories, laughter, lessons, and love he shared so freely. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit lives on in the lives he touched and in the hearts of all who loved him.

To honor Michael's life, share memories, and celebrate the immense love and joy he brought to those around him, family and friends will gather for a Celebration of Life on Saturday, August 1, 2026 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at The Landing Catering (2801 South Michigan St., South Bend, IN 46614).
