Michael E. Strammer, 51, of Ligonier, died instantly due to head injuries resulting from a car accident on Saturday, August 3, 2013 in Millersburg. He was born April 19, 1962 in Terre Haute, to Fred Strammer and Ruth Marie (Wilson) LaBaume. He is survived by his mother, Ruth Marie LaBaume and step-father, Woodrow LaBaume, of Charleston, Illinois; a sister, Sandra Bacon, of Wilmington, Ohio; a brother, Bob Strammer, of Charleston, Illinois; his longtime companion, Melissa Gamblin, of Ligonier; and his Rottweiler, Alda, "my best friend ever". He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Strammer. A 1980 graduate of Goshen High School, Michael worked at Kinro, Inc. He enjoyed cars, motorcycles, nature and working on his home. His favorite quote was "Don't mistake kindness for weakness." Viewing will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, August 9, 2013 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. A formal time of sharing by family and friends will take place at 7 p.m. Cremation will follow visitation and his cremated remains will return to Illinois with his mother. There will be no funeral service.
