Michael D. Laws

Michael D. Laws, 63, of Goshen, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Northwest Health Portage.

He was born October 13, 1960 in Goshen to James W. and Bertha (Cable) Laws.

On September 17, 1999, he married Vicky Smothers.

She survives along with her children, Sunshine Lloyd of Goshen, James (Michelle) Smothers of Kentucky, Billy Hapner of Goshen, Daniel (Amanda) Hapner of Elkhart, Kenneth Lloyd, Jr. of Georgia, Chris Lloyd of Columbia City, Dustin and Chloe Lloyd, both of Goshen; eight grandchildren; and four siblings, Christine Howell of Elkhart, Danny Laws of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Dale (Alberta) Laws of Elkhart and Dallas (Marie) Laws of Goshen.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James D. Laws and a step-daughter, Nicky Jean Lloyd.

A veteran of the US Army, Mr. Laws enjoyed hunting, fishing and helping people.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 7, 2023, from 3 to 5 p.m., at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.

Cremation will follow the visitation at Yoder-Culp Crematory.

Memorial donations can be given to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
