Michael John Lawrence, Jr.

Michael John Lawrence, 43, of Goshen, died Thursday night, March 5, 2009, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.  He had collapsed at work early Thursday morning. He was born on February 10, 1966 in Jeffersonville, Indiana, to Michael John and Lona (Wince) Lawrence, Sr.  He married Denise C. Strycker on September 12, 1998, in Goshen.  She survives. A Goshen resident since 1994, Mr. Lawrence worked as a group leader at Dutchmen Manufacturing in Goshen.  He was a member of Goshen City Church of the Brethren.  He graduated from Lincoln High School in Vincennes and had attended both Indiana State University in Terre Haute and Vincennes University. He is survived by his wife, Denise; his mother, Lona Lawrence of Evansville; a daughter, Sydney C. Lawrence at home; a sister, Cynthia (Richard) Compton of Westfield; and a brother, David (Samantha) Lawrence, Indianapolis. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Ashley Denise Lawrence on June 5, 2004; and his father, Michael Lawrence, Sr. in 1998. Friends may call 2 to 7 p.m., Sunday, March 8, at the funeral home. A 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 9, 2009, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  Pastor Bev Weaver and Tim Yoder, both of Goshen City Church of the Brethren, will officiate. Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the National Kidney Foundation.
