Michael "Mike" Dean Martin

Michael Dean “Mike” Martin, 68, Shipshewana, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at Goshen Hospital.

He was born April 14, 1952 in Goshen, to Dale Martin and Fannie (Otto) Simison.

Mike married Rosalee Hanshew on April 22, 1979 in Cerra Gordo, Illinois. She survives.

Also surviving are daughters Dora (Chad) Eash, Middlebury, and Annabel Martin, Shipshewana; four grandchildren, Penelope, Josie, Felicity, and Addalyn; siblings Sharylle Mundy, Bremen, and Dennis (Kay) Martin, Shipshewana. He was preceded in death by his father Dale Martin, mother and stepfather Fannie (Jack) Simison, brother Terry Martin, and half-brother Bill Martin.

Mr. Martin worked at Grand Design for seven years, and also at Starcraft, Brunswick Marine for 17 years. He was involved in the construction business prior to his work in the RV industry.

He was an avid mushroom hunter, camper, and fisherman. Also, a conservationist, Mike founded the Shipshewana Lake Association.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, September 12, from 1-3 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen, followed by a 3 p.m. memorial service. Pastor Ron Roth of Marion Christian Fellowship will officiate.

For those attending the services, please wear a mask and a Mike’s Crew shirt for those who have one.

Memorial contribution may be given to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or to Nature Conservancy of Indiana.
