Maxine O. (Rutledge) Swihart, 95, of Colby, Kansas, died Tuesday, November 30, 2010, at Fairview Estates. She was born in Pioneer, Ohio on September 21, 1915, to LeRoy and Ethel (Long) Rutledge.  She married Floyd Swihart on June 25, 1932, in Primrose, Ohio.  He died March 9, 1987. She is survived by two daughters, Ruth Marie Culp of Bristol, and Sarah Jane (Doyle) Saddler of Colby, Kansas; a son, George T. (Joan) Swihart of Austin, Colorado; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Doris Hjelmstad of LaJunta, Colorado; and two brothers, Robert Rutledge of Temperance, Michigan, and Russell Rutledge of Oak Harbor, Ohio. She was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Judson Swihart; a son-in-law, Dale Culp and seven siblings. A seamstress and a Goshen resident for 69 years, Mrs. Swihart moved to Kansas in 2001.  While living in Goshen she was an active member of the Dunkard Brethren Church. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, December 6, at the funeral home. A 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 7, 2010, funeral service will be conducted at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  Brother Harley Flory and Brother Terry Gunderman of Dunkard Brethren Church, Goshen, will officiate. Burial will be in West Goshen Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Services of Thomas County, Kansas.
