Maxine V. Pressler, 88, of Goshen, died Thursday evening, February 21, 2013, at Greencroft Goshen Health Care where she had been only two days after five days at the hospital. She was born August 10, 1924 in Middlebury to Lethan and Lorna Geneva (Williams) Conrad. She married C. Gerald Pressler September 17, 1945 in Middlebury. He died May 16, 1984. She is survived by two daughters, Dr. Jana L. Pressler of Greenville, North Carolina and Nancy L. (Tom) Smith of Goshen; three sons, Dr. Milton L. (Susan) Pressler of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Joe L. Pressler of Fort Myers, Florida, and Phillip D. (Debra) Pressler of St., Louis, Missouri; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a brother, Robert W. (Janice) Conrad of Naples, Florida. She was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Jean Conrad. A 1942 graduate of Middlebury High School, she worked as a typesetter first for the Middlebury Independent, then the Goshen News and retired from the News Printing Co. in 1989. A lifelong area resident, Mrs. Pressler was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Goshen Republican Women's Club. An excellent mother and grandmother, she loved cooking, preparing meals and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Friends may call Saturday, February 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. and from 2 until the 3 p.m., funeral service on Sunday, February 24, 2013, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastoral Assistant Pam Kling, First United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Cornell Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be given to First United Methodist Church or Goshen Home Care and Hospice.
