June 15, 1921 — April 7, 2014

Maxine M. Christner, 92, of Ligonier formerly of Goshen, died Monday morning, April 7, 2014 at Avalon Village, Ligonier. She was born June 15, 1921 in Goshen to Roy and Abbey (Hite) Klase. On September 11, 1944 in Goshen, she married Glen E. Christner. He died June 11, 1980. She is survived by two sons, Chuck Christner, of Syracuse, Harold Smith, of Goshen; a daughter, Betty (Wayne) Price, of Goshen; five grandchildren, Tina Christner, April Price, Gary Price, Ed Christner and David Price; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and a brother, Richard Klase, of New Paris. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Leon Christner, and two brothers, Dale and Chuck Klase. Mrs. Christner was a dedicated homemaker who enjoyed time with her family. Visitation will be one hour prior to the 2 p.m. memorial service, Friday, April 18, 2014 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Timothy T. Yoder will officiate. Burial of cremated remains will follow at Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
