Max Shrock

Max C. Shrock, 53, of Goshen, died at his home late Thursday morning, May 19, 2011. He had battled cancer since September 2008. He was born June 23, 1957 in Goshen to the late Chester Glenn and Vivian (Weldy) Shrock. He married Dixie Mitschelen in Nappanee on September 24, 1977. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Stacy (Chris) Bennett of Goshen, and Christine Nine and fiancé, Dan Koronkiewicz of Elkhart; a granddaughter, Aubrey Bennett; and a sister, Carolyn (Ralph) Hartman of Goshen. He was preceded in death by a sister, Janice Shrock. A 1975 graduate of Northridge High School and Elkhart Career Center, Mr. Shrock was a member of Pleasant View Mennonite Church. He drove truck for AG Trucking for 21 years and Nu-Mill Trucking for the past three and a half years. An avid Harley-Davidson motorcycle rider, he rode in 45 of the 50 states. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, May 22, 2011, at Pleasant View Mennonite Church, where a 7:00 p.m., Monday, May 23, 2011, memorial service will be held. Pastors Ron Diener and Tyler Hartford will officiate. A private burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Goshen. Memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant View Mennonite Church or Goshen Home Care and Hospice. Yoder-Culp Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
