Max Eugene Hartman, 86, of Goshen, died Sunday, June 4, 2023 at Heritage Point Assisted Living and Memory Care.

He was born December 6, 1936 in Wakarusa to Harold W. and Ruth M. (Leinbaugh) Hartman.

On June 12, 1976 he married Brenda S. Warstler in Roseland. She passed away October of 2017.

He is survived by a daughter, Glenda G. (Carlos) Hall of Grapevine, Texas; a son, Shawn E. Hartman of Tennessee; four stepchildren, Tammy R. (Shawn) Looney of Bristol, Cindy K. Palmer of Elkhart, Randall R. (Missy) Newman of North Liberty and Kelly (Britt) Newman of Goshen; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and two brothers, Dean D. Hartman, of Fairfax, Iowa and Keith L. (Kathy) Hartman of Kissimmee, Florida.

Max graduated from Jefferson High School in 1954 and retired from Fidler, Inc. as a plant maintenance supervisor after 30 years. He attended Plymouth United Church of Christ. He was a reserve police officer of Elkhart and enjoyed racing at New Paris Speedway.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 11, 2023, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a funeral service will take place Monday, June 12, 2023,  at 11 a.m.

Burial will follow at Olive West Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be given to Plymouth United Church of Christ.
