Max S. Bickel

Max S. Bickel, 82, of Goshen, died Wednesday evening, January 19, 2011, at Goshen General Hospital. He was born January 2, 1929 in Sturgis, Michigan to Ernest W. and Mildred L. (Harris) Bickel. He moved to Goshen in 1934 coming from Brighton, Indiana. He worked at Johnson Controls from 1945 until his retirement, except for the time spent serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  An avid pilot, at one time he built his own plane. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Mars S. Bickel. An 11:30 a.m., Monday, January 24, 2011, graveside service will be held at Rock Run Cemetery, Goshen.  Eldon Wood of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints will officiate.
