Matthew Thomas Smith

Matthew Thomas Smith, 24, died Thursday afternoon, February 11, 2010, at the emergency room at Goshen General Hospital.  He had been ill for one week.  He was born on May 7, 1985, to Timothy Smith and Cindy Jervis, in Goshen.  They survive.  Mr. Smith worked as a receiver at Lowes, Goshen, he was a member of the First Brethren Church, Goshen, and a 2004 graduate of Goshen High School.  He is survived by three brothers, Brad (Lori) Smith, Springbrook, Alberta, Canada, Brad (Tonia) Daniels, Goshen, Dennis "D" Daniels Jr., Millersburg; one sister, Beth Ann (Rod) Housour, Goshen; two grandmothers, Noreta Mort, North Webster, Linda (Ron) Stieninger, Cromwell; seven nephews; and four nieces.  He was preceded in death by two grandfathers, Jack Mort and Tharon Smith.  Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Monday, February 16, 2010 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A 10 a.m., funeral service will be held at the First Brethren Church, Goshen, on Tuesday, February 16.  Pastor John Drexler will officiate.  Burial will be in Elkhart Prairie Cemetery, Goshen.  Memorials may be made to First Brethren Church, Goshen.
