Matthew D. Goppert

Matthew D. Goppert, 40, of New Paris, died Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at Elkhart Hospice House after an unexpected illness.

He was born November 30, 1977 in Goshen to Orus and Janet (Plank) Goppert.

They survive along with a brother, Oren (Sallie) Goppert and nephews, Garrett, Ian and Jackson Goppert, all of New Paris and maternal grandmother, Roberta Plank of Goshen.

Matthew attended Fairfield High School and New Paris Church of the Brethren.  He enjoyed the outdoors, especially mushroom hunting, fishing, ATV trails, target shooting and bush camping in Canada.  He also enjoyed baking pies.

Family was important to Matthew and he enjoyed get togethers with aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends may call Monday, April 2, 2018 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home where a 10 a.m., Tuesday funeral service will be conducted.

Burial will follow in Baintertown Cemetery, New Paris.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Elkhart Hospice House.
