Mary Jane Yoder

Mary Jane Yoder, 81, of Goshen, died Monday afternoon, January 9, 2006, at Greencroft Healthcare.   She was born August 8, 1924, in Eden Township, LaGrange County, Indiana, to Tobias and Mattie (Christner) Yoder.  On November 1, 1942, at the Pleasant View Church, Goshen, she married Henry N. Yoder.  He died April 17, 1992.   Mrs. Yoder was a member of the Marion Mennonite Church, Shipshewana, where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the sewing circle.  She enjoyed Greencroft activities and helping other residents.   She had worked at Dutch Maid Bakery and had owned and operated Millersburg Café from 1966 to 1976.   She is survived by four sons, Daryl R. (Lou) Yoder of Elkhart, Indiana, Eldon L. (Mary) Yoder and Dennis L. (Cheryl) Yoder, both of Goshen and Wayne D. Yoder of Silver City, New Mexico; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and 12 step-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mabel (Menno) Kauffman of Goshen.   She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Marvin J. Yoder; two sisters, Jemima Miller and Edna Yoder Homes, and a brother, Alvin J. Yoder.   Friends may call 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, January 12, and one hour prior to the service on Friday at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.   A 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 13, 2006, funeral will be held at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.  Pastors Ron and Charlene Roth of the Marion Mennonite Church, Shipshewana, will officiate.   Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Goshen.   Memorial contributions may be given to Marion Mennonite Church or Care at Home Hospice.
