Mary Lou Wooten-Caldbeck

Mary Lou Wooten-Caldbeck, 76, of Goshen, died late afternoon on Saturday, August 26, 2006, at Goshen General Hospital after an extended illness.  She was born on October 18, 1929, in Nappanee, Indiana, to Edward E. and Dora (Brumbaugh) Oswalt.  On October 10, 1946 she married Bernard E. Wooten in Nappanee.  He died August 26, 1998.  In November of 1999 she married Phillip Caldbeck at Greencroft.  He died September 27, 2003.   A homemaker, and a lifelong resident of the area, she is survived by a daughter, Terry (David) Sanderson of Washington, North Carolina; a son, Rick (Eilene) Wooten of Goshen; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.    She was preceded in death by a son, Greg Wooten in 1990; a daughter, Paula Wedge in March 2006; a granddaughter in 1986; five sisters, Phyllis Verstraete, Myrtle Martz, Ida Hamsher, Dorothy Cook and Helen Heckaman; and four brothers, Virgil, Glen, Robert and Paul Oswalt.   Friends will be received 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 29, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home.   A 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 30, 2006, funeral service will be held at the funeral home.  Rev. Stan Godfrey of the New Paris Church of the Brethren will officiate.  Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen.   Memorial contributions may be given to the United Cancer Services of Elkhart County.
