Mary A. Wilcox

Nov 21, 1949 — Jun 28, 2026

Mary A. Wilcox, 76, of Goshen, Indiana, passed away Sunday, June 28, at Majestic Care where she resided her last 5 days.

She was born Nov. 21, 1949 in Coldwater, Michigan to Leslie and Iola (Knapp) Wilcox. Mary lived with her parents in Quincy, MI, Elkhart IN, and Iron Mountain in the U.P of MI until they passed away in 1996 and 1998. After that she came to live in a MERIMNA home in Goshen for several years and then with her brother Lou and wife, Rachel for 11 years. In 2015, they found a wonderful place for her to live in the ADEC Bridlewood home not far from Goshen. There she thrived living with seven other ladies and their wonderful caregivers for almost 11 years. She attended the ADEC Middlebury Day Program.

Mary loved God and people. Each acquaintance became her friend. She enjoyed desserts, country music, all kinds of crafts, shopping for clothes, and celebrating birthdays and all the holidays. It gave her joy to make things to give to others. ADEC gave her many opportunities to take part in life in the community and beyond.

She is survived by her sister-in-law and guardian, Rachel Wilcox, and two nephews and their families: Brian (Lisa) Wilcox and their children Morgan (Nathan) Pharr and Clayton (Anna) Wilcox all from Memphis, TN, and Dennis (Shawna) Wilcox and their children Taiyo and Julie Wilcox from Marshall, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Lou Wilcox, and a nephew Michael Wilcox.

A memorial service will be held at LifePoint Church in Goshen at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 11 with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Anthony Cottrell will officiate.

Burial will follow at a later date at the Lakeview Cemetery in Quincy, MI.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to ADEC, 19670 SR 120, Bristol, IN 46507 in appreciation for the wonderful care they gave Mary.
